I came across some amazing work via ffffound by Zhou Fan a Chinese Contemporary Artist born 1983. Since 2006 his work has been displayed at many gallery shows in China, Dubai, Bahrain and more…
I really admire the very detailed organic shapes of mushroom-jellyfish like forms and also the intriguing use of color.
Make sure to check out his portfolio for more work at Zhou Fan Art dot com

So Gorillaz release Plastic Beach and then DFA’s Free Energy release Stuck on Nothing on the same day. Good day!
I have been addicted to Free Energy for the past month or so, so I am stoked about this release specially because its a whopping $5.99 for the full album on itunes! “Boring jobs, troubled relationships, rush hour traffic… such mundane prisons are no match for the liberating power of a fantastic pop song. Think of Stuck On Nothing as one giant stack of “Get Out Of Jail Free” cards. ”
Make sure to download the Ph7labs Mixcast – Volume 1 which features music by Free Energy!
… Also here is one of my favorite tracks from the album

So its three hours before the release of Gorillaz Plastic Beach, and I found some scans of the new artwork for the deluxe edition. Jamie Hewlett, the artist behind the amazing Gorillaz characters and scenes has never failed to impress me.
Also I was able to find a sample and a video of the Stylo song featuring Mos Def & Bobby Womack and I guess Bruce Willis (haha awesome)

Parra is an amazing Dutch designer/illustrator/art director based in Amsterdam. He has collaborated with notable brands such as Nike and Alife and has been a featured in publications ranging from Juxtapoz to New York Magazine. He has a very unique style that reminds me of 70’s era, with a very limited yet bright color pallete.
Besides being known as an underground star in Amsterdam he also runs his own clothing skate oriented shop Rockwell Clothing which is stocked in London, Tokyo, Berlin and New York. Aside from commercial works Parra has also done gallery shows, in his first solo gallery show, “Jobs I did for friends for under £100″ at London’s Kemistry Gallery he sold out in 3 days.
Make sure to check out his portfolio.

Lately, I have been working and playing more with fonts than usual. My appreciation for them has nearly doubled in the past week, and I have to thank no other than the new online technologies that are available to us.
Earlier in the week I made a post on my experience with Typekit, and now I want to mention an amazing company called “The League of Moveable Type”
No more bullshit. Join the revolution.
Caroline and Micah from “A Good Company” are the founders of “The League of Moveable Type” where you’ll find only the most well-made, FREE & open-source, @font-face ready fonts.
@font-face is a fairly new addition to web styling, its is a CSS rule that allows you, the designer, to specify the location of font files.
So take a look at their great collection of fonts, and download them for free!
