Here’s my first try at making a time-lapse animation. It was a bit of a learning curve but once I got the process down it became pretty simple. For the time-lapse I used my old Canon Elura 100 (not a very good camera), Gawker, QuickTime Pro and iMovie.
I began by setting up the Elura camera on a tripod and aiming at my desk. Then I plugged the camera to a MacBook Pro via Firewire. On my laptop I installed Gawker an application for Mac OS X that creates time-lapse movies, which instantly recognized the camera to begin recording.
After adjusting the settings on Gawker, I began drawing while the camera was running. Once the movie was done it saves it as an .mov file. Thats where Quicktime Pro comes in to re-export it as DV.
Once I had my file in DV format it was just a matter of importing it on to iMovie and adding some good tunes by the all amazing Kelpe from UK.
Till this point I’m not if this is the best way to create a time-lapse, but it worked for me. If there is an alternative way, I would to hear your thoughts.
More to come ;)

Dumbo is definitely one of my favorite spots in the city, not only because of it’s relaxed atmosphere but also because of its view of the city. Last weekend my father came in to visit from Florida, so like we usually do when family comes to visit, we went to Dumbo.
My father as you can tell from his extensive Flickr stream, he is a huge photo enthusiast so when he visits, his main priority is to go around the city hunting for good shots. And truth be told, New York is an amazing place, filled with places waiting to be captured in gigs.
This interest for photography has sort of started to rub off on me and it has made me to want to take more pictures. These two shots were taken after visiting the very cool toy / book store Zakka in Dumbo, Brooklyn. So when you visit make sure to check them out.
L – Days was a personal doodle series of works which were drawn daily for a week. This three illustrations are the final selection out that week. You can see the other previous variations on flickr account here.
