the ark project - book

The Crab - ph7labs - The Ark Project

Early this year I was invited by DGPH to participate in an amazing project, The Ark Project. The goal was to create a bible of saved animals with the help of 210 artists, designers and Illustrators from around the world, each representing a species of the country they come from.

I am happy to announce that after a long wait the "The Ark Project" book is finally here!!!

About the Project

"Just like Noah saved the animal species in his ark, this project will try to rescue the ones surrounding us today, through the most important designers, illustrators and contemporary designers.

The idea is to generate an animal bible showing the different species around the globe with artist from each corner of the planet. Each one of them representing an animal or specie from their homeplace. "

45 incredible illustrators

Yesterday I came across this great post by Think Design, via @imagekind on twitter. The post is a collection of 45 amazing illustration artists on Imagekind. I am very happy to have my illustration “The Villes” be included in the list along such amazing artists.

The Villes - Camilo Bejarano

Here are some of my favorite pieces from the list:

chris leavens

Harpooning The Woolley Whale by Michael Wandelmaier

Happymorning by Cathleen Wolter

Canary by Rubens LP

“Good illustration art is both bold and compelling. With such strong emphasis on subject over form, illustrations can visually tell a story that other art forms cannot. Making the impossible, possible and turning imagination into visual reality, Illustration art gives artists free reign to explore what is usually only possible in another world.”

Beetle Bum – Weekly Dig, originally uploaded by ph7labs.

Boston’s weekly magazine, Weekly Dig printed Beetle Bum as the cover for their Waist Management issue of January. It’s a privilege to be part of the long tradition of great covers, Weekly Dig is Boston’s best and only weekly entertainment magazine.

This is the first time my work is featured as a cover piece so I’m pretty stoked! Thanks a lot to Tak Toyoshima for the invitation.
