3- Where do yo draw your inspiration from?

A lot comes from everyday life … going to the supermarkets, walking in the woods and of course surfing the internet. Apart from google-search, Flickr and FFFFound are great places to look for inspirations.

4- Can you describe for us what a regular day is like for you?

Steffen: Breakfast while listening to the radio … going downstairs to the home office, working/chatting with Kai and Svend, Lunch break, working, Coffee-break, working, Dinner, reading books with my son, working again … having a beer

Svend: Breakfast at a local Coffee shop, cycling to the office, work, lunch with the office neighbors, work, playing table tennis, cycling home, having dinner in a restaurant, chatting with Steffen and Kai.

7- Is it easy to make a living in the work that you do?

Steffen: We have to work a lot since our images are very labor-intensive. It is sometimes hard to find some spare time to do our own projects. But we are very lucky that we haven’t had any problems so far getting enough jobs to pay our bills.

8- Who is your biggest influence?

Steffen: the internet

Kai: Anything really — nature, an idea, all kinds of data, structures, Philip K. Dick, Alexander Calder, Iain M. Banks, the iPhone (which everybody should understand is something from the future – which due to a couple of lucky incidents we are now able to hold in our hands many years before it was supposed to appear on this world).

9- How important is technology for the work that you do? What tools
could you not live with out?

Steffen: We use as many new tools as we can. Since we are working at three different places, collaboration tools are important … like iChat, Campfire and Backpack (37 signals), Google Docs and many more.

Kai: Technology is inspirational — we stand in awe of all the new possibilities — and we try to integrate and learn as much as possible.

Svend: The communication and collaboration tools are most important for the way we work. Not only that we live and work on three different places (in Berlin and Vancouver) also our clients come from all over the world. Our working life would be completely different without internet-based communication.

10- How important is color in your work and why?

Steffen: Very :) … colours can change everything.

Kai: yes that’s true, but I wouldn’t say it plays a main role in ourdaily thoughts about work. It’s as important as anything else. Content, dynamics, moods, etc. We would be fine even if we wouldn’t possess color to play with.
